WithinCells 0.1.5 Pre-release
released this

This preview upgrades the WC1 wire format to version 2. Sender signatures and
HPKE contexts now bind the intended recipient, pairing fingerprints require
explicit confirmation before persistence, and every plaintext delivery path is
covered by policy and durable replay state. The Bluetooth LE bearer now mutually authenticates paired devices before
transferring an envelope. Linux Bluetooth keyboard pairing is restricted to one
target during the explicit pairing window, rejects legacy static-PIN flows and
requires an authenticated Bluetooth link before sending key reports.WC1 Draft 1 messages and unconfirmed preview pairings intentionally fail closed.
After updating from 0.1.4 or earlier, exchange and fingerprint-confirm fresh
pairing offers before sending new secrets.Downloads remain preview packages. Verify
SHA256SUMSbefore use. This is not
a production security release; the release gates documented inRELEASE.md
continue to apply.Downloads

This preview makes sending and receiving easier to understand. QR code and
Bluetooth are now selected as transfer methods, while auto-type, the temporary
clipboard and the optional Bluetooth keyboard are presented separately as
output methods. The secret field can be revealed on demand, uses clear size guidance and no
longer loses its content when a transfer fails. A single paired target appears
as a compact device card; multiple targets include their security fingerprint
in the selector. Device data reloads automatically when its page opens.Raw Java and state-lock errors are no longer shown to users. A concurrent
WithinCells window or active transfer now produces a localized explanation
with a clear recovery step. The revised interface and release notes are
available in all ten supported locales.Downloads remain preview packages. Verify
SHA256SUMSbefore use. This is not
a production security release; the release gates documented inRELEASE.md
continue to apply.Downloads

This preview fixes desktop icon consistency. The application window now uses
the same connected-cells artwork as the tray, Linux launcher and packaged
Windows executable, so Windows no longer falls back to the Java runtime icon
in the title bar or taskbar.Downloads remain preview packages. Verify

a production security release; the release gates documented inRELEASE.md
continue to apply.Downloads

WithinCells 0.1.2 Pre-release
released this
2026-08-26 02:09:57 +02:00 | 6 commits to main since this releaseWithinCells 0.1.2
This preview makes device pairing and maintenance explicit. Paired devices can
be inspected, renamed and removed, and the application guides both endpoints
through the two QR scans required for recipient encryption and sender
verification. The release also registers Tink HPKE primitives before every decryption path,
initializes a missing desktop identity on first launch and carries the matching
cells 0.1.2engine. The BLE bearer was verified in both directions with real
Android and Linux hardware, including decryption after an Android process
restart.Downloads remain preview packages. Verify
SHA256SUMSbefore use. The Debian
and RPM packages are published through the Forgejo package registries; MSI,
EXE, SBOMs, build receipts and checksums are attached to the Forgejo release. This is not a production security release. Authenticode and Linux package
signing, biometric authorization, the full physical platform matrix and an
independent security review remain release gates.Downloads
